well, that was easy...

i JUST remembered, i WON a copy of chronos' personal organizer way back when from resexcellence, which made me eligible for a mere $50 upgrade to the SOHO Organizer SUITE... SOHO Notes (which is StickyBrain PLUS .Mac sync and client/server abilities -- which i still need to verify, but .Mac is cool all by itself), SOHO Organizer (Address Book on steroids), SOHO Calendar (a decent add-on to iCal and/or standalone app), and the-somewhat-useless-but-it's-there SOHO Print Essentials. so there's my answer. it'll have to suck pretty hard for all FOUR apps to not justify a cumulative $50 cost, and the Notes app covers everything, despite its interface weirdness.

DON'T waste your money. This app is over a year overdue, and is nothing like what was promised. Users are leaving Chronos in droves.

Stickybrain by itself might be worth it, but SOHO Organizer doesn't hold a candle to the product it is supposed to replace. The calendar app is everyone's main complaint, as it is simply a skin for the iCal database.

I don't hold much hope for Chronos.

Sadly, the only other usable PIM options seem to be Now Up to Date/Now contact and Entourage.

NOW you tell me. ;-)

oh well, so far, Organizer hasn't been terrible. and like I said, i only spent $50 on the whole suite (as opposed to $119 for Now stuff). yes, i agree, the calendar app is not really an app, just a database sorter view for my ical stuff. and the Contacts is simply a front-end for Address book and utility launcher.

but, for now, it suits my needs. just some basic quick note capturing and reference and linking back and forth. in a way, i consider it my penance for wanting to spport them for years now, but always rationalizing away the decision. if i had an upgradeable version of Now Contacts & UTD, it might have been a different story.

i figure i should start registering the shareware software i've been wanting for so long while i can still afford to, and maybe get on a good upgrade path while i'm at it. ;-)
