apple did it to me again

i was all ready to plunk down for a quad g5 afteer today. surely, the new towers can't be THAT good, right? not good enough for me to question my "never buy rev. a" mantra, right?

f'n hell. the jump in performance and under-the-hood is as great as the powerbook to the macboook pro (and strangely enough, just like the powerbook/MBP switch, the mac pro also borrows its shell from the previous generation powermac).

p.s. apologies for the typos, folks. haven't found my other goood keyboard yet, and this one has always had some issues with repeated characters. coupled with my already somewhat bouncy keyboard tray, i'm getting repeats everywhere, and the blogger widget doesn't spellcheck. grumble...
