The joke's on you

you ever have someone tell you a joke, and they laugh uproariously at one part of it, and you sit there thinking "um, actually, the funny part is the person who DID what you just described, and you're pretty much a mirror image of them." and then you realize how utterly out of touch they are with their own outwardly perception.

something similar happened to me. hoo-boy. awkward.
